Amy O’Brien will be on vacation next week and on Friday, June 22 will be leaving her position to start a new job. In the meantime, please read this message for information about how to obtain assistance during this transition.

Staffing

We have a talented group of technology students and voucher staff who will continue to work for Technology during this transition. In addition, professional staff from the main campus will be over frequently to make sure SOM technology needs are well cared for.

Letting Us Know: Class & Event Support

To ensure we provide you with high quality support for classes and events, we need you to plan ahead and make requests for classroom deliveries, event set-up and mobile laptop carts at least one week in advance. If we do not have a media request in advance, we may not be able to deliver equipment. In order for us to respond to technical issues in a timely manner, we ask that you report technical issues to the appropriate departments (please see below).

To ensure that we are able to fulfill your requests, please use the following forms when making arrangements for media deliveries and event support.

If you need media delivered to your class (e.g. digital cameras, mobile laptops, DVD/VCR, etc.), please complete the online media request form at: https://my.simmons.edu/technology/support/media-request/

If you have an upcoming event and need equipment set up for it, please download and print the pdf from the following link:

http://my.simmons.edu/services/technology/media/pdf/mediaeventsform.pdf

Please complete the form and drop it off in the SOM computer lab area on the second floor of the 411 building. There is a drop box for completed event forms at the staff desk.

To Report a Problem

If you experience technical issues during a class or event, please call Media Services at 617-521-2765. Media staff will assist you, either over the phone or by coordinating SOM Technology staff to deliver alternative technology to your class or event.

Please contact the Help Desk directly at 617-521-2222 or at helpdesk@simmons.edu to report technical issues with Simmons-owned technology (outside of class time and events).

Thank you in advance for your assistance during this transition. If you have any questions, please contact Cyndi Rubino at 617-521-2762 or by email at rubino@simmons.edu.
