The mission of the Simmons School of Management is to educate women for power and principled leadership. MBA Office Updates For many of us, next week will be a bittersweet moment at the SOM. No one is more excited than I am to move into the building, but I have to admit, there will be some sentimental moments for many of us as so many years of history are associated with these buildings. A new chapter in the SOM history is about to start and you are all a part of it!! Enjoy your break and I would encourage you to do some reflection about the fall at some point when you catch you on sleep! Think about what worked well, what didn’t work so well, what will you change and what will you continue to do. It doesn’t matter whether this is your first or 6th semester, each closing of a semester is different, and it is sometimes fun to think about how your skills and abilities have changed!! Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season if you celebrate them and a Happy New Year to everyone. We will see you in January in the new building!!

Please go back to read my email entitled MOVE Info: Key Information for MBA students once you are done!! It is really important you know about parking, where the building is, how to get there, etc!! My worst fear is that someone will come to me and say “I forgot we moved!!”, but just in case, we will put a sign on the door at Mockler! You can also visit the move website at: www.frmsites.com/simmons Grades are not officially due for fall term until January 5. Most faculty want to start their holidays earlier as well so many faculty will submit grades early. You will be able to find them on AARC and they get posted as they get submitted, so you will not have to wait til all your grades are in to see them!!
Please join the SOMAA Board of Directors in welcoming Jennifer Clark to the board as Student Representative. Jennifer represents the evening class, and will serve as a bridge between the alumnae association and the current class of students. In addition, the student representative plays an important role in ensuring that the SOMAA Board is aware of the priorities and concerns of future constituents. Jennifer's term of service begins January 5, so please contact her with any input that you would like to have relayed to the Alumnae Association board. Jennifer brings a very positive outlook and a pragmatic approach to increasing involvement of students - our future alumnae!
You will need your new ID to get into the main campus buildings in January and to put parking cash on if you plan to drive to campus!! Please come by the office and get it before December 16th!!
We will open the SOM for extended study hours over the next two weekends. Students can have access to all SOM spaces on Friday, December 5 and 12 until 9:30pm, Saturday December 6 and 13 from 9 to 5pm, and Sunday, December 7 and 14 from 9 to 5. Just a quick reminder that we will not be replenishing the coffee, tea and supplies in December as we are using up our stock before we move!

Library Updates With the move to the main campus fast approaching, we ask that you return all books you no longer need to the library. The library will be moving with the rest of the SOM on December 17th, so until that time please return the books to the SOM Library. After that time, please return books to the Beatley Library, where the SOM collection will be housed.
In preparation for the big move, the School of Management has organized a FREE Book Give-Away! Books and journals will be donated to the Give-Away by SOM faculty and staff. All SOM Community members, including students, staff, faculty, and alumna, are invitedto peruse though unwanted books and journals. Find a home for unwanted books and help make the moveto our new building a little lighter!
