MBA Office Updates As I talk to students this week, I can sense the stress of the end of the semester beginning to build for some of you and I would encourage all of you to maintain your perspective on why you came to business school. For many of you, it was to learn new skills and competencies and develop deeper critical thinking and analysis skills. This is hard and challenging because it requires so much self discipline to do the work required. It requires you really grappling with lots of information crunching numbers, examining patterns, relationships and data. It gets easier the more you practice, but at this time of the year, it is sometimes hard for you to see how much you have learned and are learning in each class! One thing that is constant is that students usually appreciate this learning more in their next course! “Confidence and courage come through preparation and practice.” --Unknown “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”-- Helen Keller
Fall Registration Change in Pre-Requisites Approved by the Curriculum Committee In last week’s meeting, the Curriculum Committee formally lifted the pre-requisite of GSM 465: Leading Organizational change off of GSM 470: Negotiations. Any student that has completed GSM 455: Leading Individuals and Groups is now eligible to take it. Fall Schedule Update: Correction from Last Week's MBA Update Last week we incorrectly stated that the Consultative Sales elective was on Thursdays. It is on Saturdays, from 10-1pm with no pre-requisites. Reminder Meeting with Students Finishing Degree Requirements in August on Saturday The second open meeting with students finishing degree requirements in August 2009 is Saturday, April 25 from 8:15-8:45am with Mary D. in M-223. We will then summarize all the suggestions, ask for volunteers to work with us, and put all the thoughts on a zoomerang survey for folks to respond! Schedule Reminders for This/Next Week
Career Strategies will switch its locations within the tracks of study and move to a Fall day section and a Spring night section. It will not conflict with any of your required courses! The following review sessions have been scheduled for Managerial Accounting:
