The mission of the Simmons School of Management is to educate women for power and principled leadership. To reserve a study room on the second floor, please stop by the Program Office (M-M103) or email Nicole Catavolos (nicole.catavolos@simmons.edu). You can book the rooms for 2 hour blocks, although if no one comes to claim the room when your two hours are up, you're welcome to stay longer. If you're using the wireless network in the building, and would like to print a document, you can print to one of the available pay-for-print stations! Here's how: 1. Board diversity in terms of gender, ethnicity, and nationality is clearly having an impact on these powerful corporations. Their stories suggest that achieving board diversity is not easy. Working with a dozen boards of (much) smaller organizations, Alison Konrad, Professor of Organizational Behavior at the University of Western Ontario, will discuss how she experienced many of the challenges first-hand. The bookstore is located in the basement of the Main Campus Building (MCB), across from The Fens Cafeteria. Class locations: You can find your class locations on AARC: aarc.simmons.edu Faculty offices: all faculty are on the 3rd and 4th floors. There is a directory near the elevators in the first floor lobby. IDs: You are going to need to use your ID to get in and out of the garage to park if you buy parking cash or a parking pass, so remember to bring it with you!! MBA Resource Room on the 1st floor is reserved for MBA students only. Half of the study rooms will be held for MBA students, the other half for UG students to reserve

Back to top The event will be held on the 5th floor of the SOM on Tuesday February 10th from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. There will be a reception for all guests from 7:30-8:00 p.m. The event is free to all guests. NEW SOM COMMUNITY BUILDING WEEKLY EVENT FOR MBA, UG, FACULTY AND STAFF Start date: February 4 Little Known Fact
Little Known Fact is a new, free, weekly gathering by and for the students of the Simmons College School of Management that will be hosted by Beth Dunn, MBA student, ’09. A casual, fun, and friendly series consisting of brief presentations, fellowship, and food, Little Known Fact will bring together full-time and part-time MBA students of all cohorts, undergraduates, faculty, and staff Wednesday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the new School of Management building. SOM students have longed for a third place – not the classroom, not the bar – in which they could build real community and strengthen important relationships within the vibrant Simmons community. Little Known Fact will provide a consistent and compelling focus for this diverse community, by drawing on and celebrating the unique skills and talents of current SOM students. Each weekly gathering will feature a brief, five-minute presentation by a current SOM student, who will share her Little Known Fact – some hidden skill or talent that would otherwise go unnoticed in the fast-paced rush of the semester. After the presentation, attendees will ask questions and discuss their own experiences on the subject. Whether it’s How to hail a cab in six different languages or How to make a stunning necklace in 30 seconds, each session will present a lighthearted, but intriguing glimpse into the lives of our fellow students. No college gathering is complete without free food, so light fare, snacks, coffee, tea, and soda will be provided at each weekly session. Expand your horizons, learn new skills, and meet your SOM colleagues this Spring Semester at Little Known Fact, Wednesday afternoons beginning February 4 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm in the second floor lounge at the top of the stairs.
