The mission of the Simmons School of Management is to educate women for power and principled leadership. The week of Feb. 23, the AACSB team will be here for its site visit. We have been working on this accreditation for 10 years and are ready for them!! We will need students to meet with them and once we get the final schedule this week, we will send a separate email asking for student volunteers. Right now, MBA Students will meet with the visiting team on Monday, 2/23.
BGGE - Friday, 1/30, 10:30-1:30pm Career Strat is delaying its start date to 1/29 because of Foundations students. Last class will be WED 3/4.
You can now view your accounts and pay on line! Here is how: 1. Log into AARC. 2. Under Financial Information, click on the Access Student Account Center 3. Click on View Bill/Make a Payment.
If you want to park at the new SOM building, the garage is right underneath us and the elevators come into the building lobby!! You need to either buy a full time student parking pass or put parking cash on your ID card to come in and out with a discounted rate!! Go to the website to find the parking application or stop by the parking office (E-007) when you are on campus. There is no longer an SOM satellite bookstore, you must go to the College bookstore for your coursepacks. Plan accordingly because all schools and all students start the same day!! Class locations: All MBA classes are in the new building either on the first or second floor. Here are your room locations as of today: M222 - Econ, BGGE, M. Acct, Marketing, Finance, Comm Strat, Leading Orgs, International Marketing, Brazil Travel Course M223 - Ops, SDM, Career Strat, Gender, Public Speaking M104 - Leading Ind., Investments M105 - FSA, Negotiation Faculty locations: all faculty are on the 3rd and 4th floors. There is a directory near the elevators in the first floor lobby. ID’s: You are going to need to use your ID to get in and out of the garage to park if you buy parking cash or a parking pass, so remember to bring it with you!! MBA Resource Room on the 1st floor is reserved for MBA students only. Half of the study rooms will be held for MBA students, the other half for UG students to reserve
Beth Dunn, one of our current students, will host an informal hour every Wednesday from 4-5pm for MBA and UG students and faculty to meet informally, learn some fun things, network, etc. We will provide food and encourage all of you to put it on your calendars and pop in. It will be in the 2nd floor LR. Start date: Wednesday, Feb. 4.
We will be closed. The building is open with your student ID but limited services on the campus are available, as it is a college holiday. Check the library and bookstore websites if you are coming to campus!!

SOM STUDENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED… Please attend our informational session on Tuesday, February 3rd at 5:15–6:00 pm in SOM Case Room – M-222 (2nd floor). We will provide an overview of the conference and answer your questions. This informational session is designed to help you determine if you would like to volunteer. Following the meeting, you will have the opportunity to sign up. Volunteers are essential to our success. In exchange for your contribution, you will be permitted to attend the Conference FREE. (Conference fees are $450 for SOM students)
Volunteering for the Conference requires the following minimum commitment:
SOM Leadership Conference Date: Saturday, May 2, 2009 We need your support. Your time and effort directly supports the SOM. All proceeds raised by the Leadership Conference support the Simmons SOM MBA scholarship fund.
