Class Gift Update – Act Now

THE GIFT
The SOM Class of 2007 will support scholarships for the MBA Certificate in Entrepreneurship Practicum for our Class Gift. Not only will this provide excellent opportunities to students and alumna, but the Entrepreneurship Certificate is generating invaluable national recognition for the school in places like Entrepreneurship and Fortune magazines.

HOW TO GIVE
You can make an outright gift via a check or credit card. Another option is making a pledge which you can pay on your own time line - after you get that rock star job or promotion, or spreading the as the pledge (which is not legally binding) is paid by July of 2008.

A collection box with pledge forms is in Mockler or we can put one in your mailbox.  All checks can be made out to *Simmons College SOM* and can be dropped at the MBA office.

Graduation Updates

*Cap and Gowns will be in next week.


*Ingrid Clay has been selected to represent the evening program at graduation

 

*Additional Health Insurance is available for an extended period of time for graduating students on the Simmons insurance. Application forms are available in the MBA office. According to the insurance company, students should contact them directly to ask for an extension, get the form, and then return it with payment of the premium. Students should call University Health Plans before the termination of this year's plan at 617-472-5324 or 800-437-6448.

 

*The price of extra tickets for the Dean’s Reception is $70, not $75 as mentioned in the graduation meetings.

If you plan to buy an extra ticket to the Dean's Reception please let Paula know as soon as possible. If you did not check off on your data sheet that you are bringing a guest we will assume you are coming alone.

Short Term Project Work in the Registrar’s Office

Donna Dolan, the college Registrar, is looking for an MBA student to do some project work during the summer. Work expectations are 15-20 hours a week, project duration to be not longer than the summer. Skills needed: ability to work independently, excel, data analysis and strong writing. Call Donna if you are interested at 521.2101 and tell her you are responding to the posting in the MBA update this week.

 


Paula’s New Name

Paula Donaldson’s new married last name going forward is Paula Bent. Currently my email address is still paula.donaldson@simmons.edu. You will see my display name as Paula Bent but my email remains the same until it gets changed with technology.

You are invited to the SOM Alumnae Association's annual New Alumnae Reception. This event, sponsored by the Simmons SOMAA, marks a wonderful tradition of welcoming the new class of MBA graduates to the distinguished ranks of Simmons SOM alumnae.

 

Join Alumnae Association board members, and student representatives Geetha Krishnamurthy '07 and Mandy Osborne '07, along with faculty and staff, as we toast the class of 2007. This will be a great way to learn about how you can stay involved and connected to the school, each other, and the incredible network of SOM alumnae in Boston and around the globe. Refreshments will be served.

Explore and learn about Library sources that will help in your job search. Find out about some of the many wonderful resources we offer. These informal workshops/demonstrations will be held in the SOM Library. Pick a time that is convenient for you and come on down! The Library is offering tutorials on using the Bloomberg terminal. These 1-hour individual sessions are designed to help you get started with using the different menu options in this powerful real-time financial and news database. The tutorials will be given during the following times:
