New Student Information

Congratulations on your acceptance to the MBA Program!

Now that you have been admitted to the program, your first step is to complete the Enrollment Decision Form. Please return it to the Admission Office with your tuition deposit by the date indicated on your admit letter. This is will reserve your seat in class.

Next, use the New Student Checklist to help you prepare for the start of classes. This will serve as your guide to ensure you've got everything in order before the start the program.

Foundations of Business

The Foundations of Business is a non credit, required course for all incoming MBA students. During Foundations of Business, students are introduced to the concepts and principles that are the basis of the Simmons MBA Program. In addition, it serves as an introduction to the Simmons community and allows students to get to know each other and the faculty.


Spring 2010 Information to be posted soon! 

All new students are required to complete pre-work assignments prior to the start of Foundations of Business. Please visit eLearning, login using your username and password, and click on the Foundations course for more information. Once your paperwork has been processed in Admissions, the Academic Programs Office, will send you a welcome letter. Once you deposit and have finished all your Admissions requirements, if you do not receive the welcome letter or your username and password, please email Paula Bent at paula.bent@simmons.edu. This process could take up to a week so please be patient.

Simmons eLearning

Simmons College uses Simmons eLearning (powered by WebCT Vista) to deliver Web-enhanced courses. Simmons eLearning can be used to post a syllabus, lecture notes, and other course materials on the internet, link directly to online journal articles, serve online quizzes, as well as communicate with students in a real-time chatroom or with a bulletin board.

Now that you are part of the Simmons College community, the SOM Academic Program Office will be your primary contact for information and guidance throughout your studies. To help make your transition as smooth as possible, we have provided some information below that we think may be useful to you. Any member of the  Academic Program Office staff is available to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have. We are thrilled to welcome you to the Simmons School of Management and look forward to meeting you.

Below, you will find information to help you navigate through your first weeks at Simmons.

Course Registration

Our office will automatically register you for your first semester of classes based on the track of study you selected. Your Tracks of Study refers to the number of months in which you have decided to complete the MBA program.

Find out about what you need for class, including text books and coursepacks. You will be required to buy a calculator (Texas Instruments BA II Plus) and it is strongly recommended that you purchase a personal computer and USB flash drive. Also, find out about the SOM library.
