Classrooms and Event spaces at the SOM

Technology supports academic technology use in the classroom, and the use of technology for events.

Built-in Technology

Most of the classrooms/event spaces at the SOM have built-in technology, which can be augmented, but not modified. To ensure that the built-in technology is ready for your use, you must complete a request form at least 7 business days in advance.

The following rooms have built-in technology:

• Mockler caserooms 1 and 2
• 5th floor caseroom
• Green room
• Gold room
• Purple room

Built-in technology includes:

• Windows computer
• Internet connectivity
• DVD/VHS
• Auxilliary video inputs (e.g. for a laptop or document camera
• Overhead projector

Technology available for delivery

Before you complete a request form to have equipment delivered, please check the list above, to see what technology is already installed.

A variety of Simmons audio-visual equipment is available for delivery to classrooms and event spaces through the Simmons campus. Consult the comprehensive list, which includes laptops, projectors, screens, etc.

• Classes. Please fill out an online classroom request form if you would like equipment delivered and set up for a class.
• All other events. Please download and complete the events request form (PDF) if you would like any audiovisual support or equipment for anything other than an MBA class.

For us to provide you with the best service possible, please request services/equipment at least 7 days in advance. You can help us ensure your class or event is a success by scheduling an appointment with the User Services Support Specialist to go over your technology needs. We cannot always guarantee services or equipment without advance notice. We often borrow equipment (and staff) from the main campus; and unless we make arrangements in advance to procure shared resources or arrange for staff, they may not be available to you.

Laptops for classroom use in Mockler

There are 2 carts, containing a total of 24 laptops loaded with the suite of Simmons General Access software, available by faculty or staff request for use by students during class. To request delivery of the carts, please fill out an online classroom request form, and indicate "Mockler laptops" in the "Other" equipment field.
