Media Retrieval System (MRS)
The Media Retrieval System (MRS) is a centralized video delivery system that allows for remote playback of video signals. Media Services maintains a "head end" where programs are gathered and transported electronically into designated classrooms using the MRS. Once the media has been programmed to be "delivered" into a classroom, a presenter has at her/his disposal the ability to display and completely control from the classroom or event space: VHS tapes (NTSC, SECAM, PAL, etc.), DVDs, Laserdiscs, and Direct TV. Further, a presenter can have at her/his disposal as many as six video sources at one time all administered by a single control unit.
We ask that all MRS arrangements be made at least five business days in advance of the class or event. If media has been obtained by the presenter, the media may be dropped off at Media Services on the day of the class or meeting.
